Courses

At SCOTVQ we pride ourselves on our reputation as a quality provider of Vocational Qualifications. Our strong customer and staff loyalty is testament to this fact. We work in partnership with you to support your needs in building a qualified workforce through relevant, up to date, enjoyable education and training. As well as providing SVQ at levels 2 - 4 and Leadership & Management for Care Services, we also offer a broad range of other qualifications and courses appropriate to Continuing Professional Development (CPD). 

All have been developed using the SCQF as our quality standard. SCOTVQ also provide a range of Statutory Training courses which are required by health & safety or risk management legislation. Our programme of these courses has been developed from our background in social care to be specific to the sector.

A variety of teaching styles are employed to help each individual's learning. The background of Dr. Jane Prior in teaching and learning has led to the development of materials and approaches that focus on the needs of individual learners for support and stimulation, opportunities to question and challenge, and for feedback about progress. Regardless of the type of course candidates undertake there will usually be options regarding how the course can be delivered.

All of the courses we deliver are designed to be accessible by anyone whose work role requires them to undertake that particular course. The materials are written in straight forward language and where it is necessary to introduce complex ideas or concepts the language used will be jargon free and user friendly. As Jane says, she could make everything read like an academic text book but that would only put off candidates! The aim then, is to remove as many barriers to learning as possible.
