  Proactive Crisis Intervention

SCOTVQ are pleased to be able to offer a comprehensive short course in Proactive Crisis Intervention (PCI). Proactive Crisis Intervention is training in procedures specifically in response to behaviours challenging to a service including defusion strategies and de-escalation techniques, primary escape techniques and proactive physical intervention techniques.  PCI is a non-aggressive approach to preventing and managing challenges with the focus on protecting and promoting dignity and helping all concerned to develop assertive, clear communication. In situations where physical restraint is unavoidable only approved techniques can be used and these are reviewed during de-briefing.
